During Char Udasis Guru Nanak Ji visited different
 places to preach Sikhisim.
During First Udasi (journey), he covered most of the parts of Bharat and this journey took almost Seven Years ie. from 1500 A D to 1506 A D.

Guru Nanak Ji travelled more than 28000 (Twenty eight thousand) kms in five tours of the world during the period of
1500 A D to 1524 A D for Twenty Fours Years.
The aim of these journeys were to awaken the people to realize the Truth (God) by Sikhism and  to spread the Devine Light of Akal Purukh by Sikhism.
Three main Updeshes of Guru Nanak Ji are Kirat Karo(Do hard work to earn money), Nam Japo(  Remember to Akal Purukh) and Vand Chhako( Share your earning with others). He started the Langar with rupees twenty which is known as Sachcha Sauda.
In the year of 1520 Babar attacked to Bharat. His troops slaughtered thousands of innocent civilians from all walks of life. Women and children were made captives and all their property was looted at Eminabad Saidpur. Bhai Lalo, the disciple of Guru Nanak Ji also with them. Guru Nanak Ji Challenged this act of Babar in strong words. He was arrested but he was released soon. Babar had realized that he did blunder to arrest Guru Nanak Ji. All the other prisoners were also released with Guru Nanak Ji.
The question arise here why and how Babar realized that he did blunder to arrest Guru Nanak ji ? According to the Puratan Janm Sakhi,  'Guru Nanak and Mardana also among the captives, were ordered by the king Babar is to be taken to prison as slaves. Guru Nanak was given a load to carry and Mardana a horse to lead, but Khan saw that Guru's bundle was carried without any support and Mardana's horse followed him without the  reins. He reported to Sultan Babar, who remarked, " If there was such a Holly man here, the town should not have been destroyed. Janm Sakhi continue, Babar kissed his (Guru Nanak) feet and said 'O' Darvesh ! accept something. Guru answered, I take nothing but you must released all the prisoners of Eminabad, Saidpur and restore their property to them. King Babar ordered, Those who are in detention be released and their properties  be returned to them. All the prisoners of Saidpur set free and their properties also given to them.
An other event was occurred in Kaba like this--
Bhai Mardana was a Muslim
and one of the first followers of Guru Nanak Ji. Bhai Mardana told Guru Ji  that as a Muslim, it was his obligation to visit Macca once in his life time. Guru Ji agreed and accompanied him to Macca. When Quazi Jeewan came and asked Guru ji that why his feet in the direction of Kaba. Then Guru Ji replied,  I am tiered, he should turn his feet in a direction where Kaba does not dwell. Quazi jeewan angered and moved the Guru's feet,  and then he saw Kaba is revolved in the side of feet. He moved Guru's feet in an other direction, He saw Kaba was still in direction of feet.Quqzi Jeewan surprised that how Kaba is revolving according to the direction of Guru's feet ? He was silent for a few minutes and then after, he preyed to Guru Ji,  and said, I am thankful to you. You are not God but not less than God. Now I am able to
understand that God is everywhere and in every direction.Till now, It was in my knowledge that Allah(God) lives in Kaba only.
An other  most important event was occurred, when Guru Nanak was working in Modikhana. He went to the river Bein to take bath as normal but did not reappear for three days. On his return, Guru Nanak explained his revelation of God, he is said to have declared ' God is neither Hindu nor Muslim.'(There is no Hindu, there is no Musalman).
Guru Nanak ji settled at Kartarpur in the last. He spent rest of the life from1522 to1539 in Kartarpur. There was daily Kirtan and Langar was introduced. In the last after testing his two sons Sri Chand and Luxami Chand and some other followers, he installed Bhai Lehna (Angad Dev Ji ) as his successor.
Guru Nanak Ji rejected the path of Vedas and Hindu cast system. The services of mankind Sewa, Kirtan, Satsang and the faith in one omnipotent God are the basic concept of Sikhism established by Guru Nanak Ji. He preached a new idea of God. God is Supreme, Universal, Truthful and all powerful. Formless (Nirakar), the creater of all things (Akal Purukh).God is infinite and all knowing, Sanatan, Eternal and absolute.
Guru Nanak Ji was social reformer. He attacked the cast system of Hinduism and theocracy of Muslim rulers. He was a poet. He wrote 947 hymns such as Jap Ji, Asa- Di War, Bara Mah, Sidh-Ghost, Onkar and these were included in Guru Granh Sahib by Guru Arjun Dev Ji Maharaj.
Guru Arjun Dev Ji Maharaj called him, " The image of God."
